Travel is a cherished hobby of mine, and Art Deco has long been one of my favorite artistic movements. In bringing the two together for this post card and packaging set, I created what I consider to be a truly top-quality effort in terms of both design and craft. All of the design cues were inspired by “the Golden Age of Travel”. The set is housed in a miniature wooden steamer truck, complete with hotel stickers in keeping with the era. Upon opening the box, one finds a guidebook (in the form of a thematically-appropriate, 1930s-vintage passport) and a set of three each of ten classic posters, each of which was thoroughly retouched to present its orginal, vivid appearance. The typefaces selected for use on the back of each card are meant to evoke that seen in the subject depicted on the front.
